Current Position Ludovica Lela PhD, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Health Sciences, University of Basilicata 

Research Activity and InterestsHer research activity focuses on the pharmacological effects and mechanisms of action of natural bioactive compounds, particularly in the fields of glucose homeostasis, obesity, and intestinal inflammation.A major focus of her research is the investigation of bitter specialized metabolites acting on bitter taste receptors (TAS2Rs), aiming to elucidate their cellular mechanisms and downstream signalling pathways using cell-based models. This approach supports the identification of novel bioactive natural matrices and compounds with potential applications in the nutraceutical field.Her research experience also includes activities carried out in several laboratories at international universities, within a multidisciplinary and collaborative research environment.
